Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Production Accountant to support our client’s Production Accounting team in Calgary, AB. In this role, you’ll manage full-cycle production accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy of production, revenue, and royalty reporting for assets in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in Operations, Engineering, and Finance to provide analytical insights, maintain compliance, and support continuous improvement within property accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle production accounting for Alberta and Saskatchewan (including SK heavy oil properties).
  • Prepare and validate production, revenue, and royalty reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Analyze production data, reconcile discrepancies, and align with the general ledger.
  • Maintain and update master file setups and property records.
  • Support operational teams with accounting inquiries and reporting needs.
  • Implement process changes resulting from regulatory updates, measurement adjustments, audit findings, or complex allocations.
  • Participate in amendment projects and ad hoc initiatives as required.
  • Provide backup coverage and contribute to overall departmental efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CAPPA certification (or equivalent work experience) required.
  • 5–9 years of experience in full-cycle production accounting.
  • Strong experience with Alberta and Saskatchewan conventional oil and gas operations, including SK heavy oil.
  • Metrix Production Accounting (preferred)
  • Petrinex, EC Field Data Capture, PVR Data Capture
  • SAP and Land Systems
  • Deep understanding of allocations, measurement, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and report on large data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Production Volume Capture (PVR) or Field Data Capture (DDI).
  • Familiarity with SAP Financial systems.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
