Kellow Recruiting is partnering with a highly respected and long established commercial / institutional General Contractor with deep roots throughout Durham Region and the GTA.

This privately owned organization has built its reputation over decades through strong leadership, quality execution, long standing client relationships, repeat business, and deep involvement within the local community.

The company is now entering a planned operational transition tied to the upcoming retirement of a senior operational leader and partner within the business.

Rather than simply hiring someone into a Director title, ownership is intentionally bringing in the right leader to learn the business properly from the ground level upward before evolving into the future Director of Construction role.

The Opportunity

Initially, this individual will step into a Senior General Superintendent leadership role overseeing multiple active commercial and institutional construction projects across the GTA.

Key responsibilities and exposure will include:

  • Oversight of approximately 8–10 active projects at any given time
  • Leadership support and coordination across roughly 30 Site Superintendents and field teams
  • Significant time spent in the field supporting execution, accountability, coordination, scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics
  • Working closely with ownership, PMs, clients, consultants, trades, and operational leadership teams
  • Exposure to the operational, leadership, client, and execution side of the business as part of the long-term succession plan
  • Projects ranging from smaller fast paced assignments through to large scale multi-million dollar commercial, institutional, industrial, and public sector construction projects

The Right Background

  • 10+ years of commercial / institutional construction leadership experience
  • Strong multi-site leadership and field execution background
  • Proven experience managing multiple supers, projects, and field teams simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, relationship management, and organizational capability
  • Practical, respected, solutions oriented leadership style
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, coordination, site logistics, safety, and project execution
  • Project Management experience considered a strong asset
  • Procore, Bluebeam, reporting, and construction technology proficiency preferred

Compensation

  • Approximately $150K–$200K depending on experience
