As a member of our Premium Administration team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and verifying standard and specialized billings for group clients, including, coverage and premium reports on proprietary systems.
  • Collecting premiums due and performing follow up calls/emails on outstanding receivables. Communicating with the OTIP Account Managers and providing monthly reports regarding delinquent accounts. Answering questions regarding calculations as required.
  • Ensuring that premium related information is updated on administrative systems, which includes completing the recalculation process, generating client payables, and verifying and distributing billings to billed clients.
  • Verifying transaction information, calculating refunds to clients, preparing cheque requisitions as required, and maintaining and updating the outstanding receipts and premium listings.
  • Creating detailed journal entry information of all transactions for each client receivable, to verify integrity of premium and coverage. Completing receivable confirmations, and compiling and maintaining client files by imaging and indexing remittances and performing back-up procedures.
  • Reconciling receipts with bank report download from bank site to ensure accuracy of receivables.
  • Preparing bi-weekly payroll feeds for applicable clients by running system job, verifying and correcting data, uploading for client retrieval, and answering questions.
  • Preparing the monthly case file. Liaising with clients and the Finance and Accounting department to confirm information pertaining to electronic funds transfers.

  • Bilingualism in written and spoken French and English is required.
  • A minimum of one year of post-secondary training in accounting or a related field considered an asset.
  • A minimum of one-year experience in accounting and/or collections. Experience in Group Benefits Premium Administration is considered an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • The demonstrated ability to collect, compare and analyze all information and figures in great detail while using strategic approaches to understand and complex problems.
