Description
Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Analyst for an immediate long-term remote contract opportunity. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving business transformation initiatives, improving operational processes, and supporting the successful delivery of technology and business solutions across complex environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business objectives and document detailed business requirements
- Analyze and document current business processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Develop comprehensive business cases outlining the costs, benefits, and risks of proposed solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, management, consultants, and external organizations to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
- Create detailed functional specifications, use cases, and user stories that are clear, complete, and implementation-ready
- Conduct impact analysis for proposed business and system changes
- Define and document current and future state business processes
- Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, consultants, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
- Identify opportunities for business process improvements through technology enhancements and process redesign
- Read and interpret technical documentation and communicate complex information in business-friendly language
- Plan, organize, and lead business process reengineering and continuous improvement initiatives
- Consolidate findings into clear, concise documentation and recommendations to support management decision-making
- Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements
- Assist with end-user training materials and facilitate training sessions when required
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior business analysts and team members
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as a Business Analyst
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting process analysis and business process reengineering
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience writing business requirements, use cases, and user stories
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working on projects within agile environments
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, process mapping, and solution delivery frameworks
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong political acumen and ability to navigate complex organizational environments
- Exceptional communication, consulting, and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Proven ability to communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to facilitate discussions, negotiate change, and drive consensus among stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to identify, frame, and solve business problems effectively and efficiently
- Criminal background check is required
