Lignum Recruitment is partnering with a well-established commercial roofing contractor in British Columbia that delivers high-performance roofing and sheet metal solutions to industrial and commercial clients. With a solid pipeline of work and a reputation for quality and reliability, they’re looking to add a Commercial Roofing Estimator to their team.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled and motivated estimator to take ownership of bids and proposals for diverse roofing projects—playing a key role in securing work and supporting operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities’

Site Assessment & Scope Review

  • Conduct job site visits to evaluate existing roof conditions
  • Review architectural plans, specs, and documents to determine project scope

  • Estimating & Bid Preparation

    • Prepare accurate cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
    • Use estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, EDGE, etc.) for take-offs and pricing
    • Prepare competitive, detailed bid proposals in line with project goals

  • Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

    • Source quotes and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
    • Maintain strong relationships to support pricing accuracy and material availability

  • Client & Internal Communication

    • Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and clarify technical details
    • Present proposals clearly and respond to inquiries or changes in scope
    • Keep internal teams and leadership updated on bid status and submission timelines

  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain organized records of all estimates, drawings, and bid documents
    • Provide regular status updates and post-bid feedback to management

  • What We’re Looking For

    Qualifications & Experience

    • 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial roofing
    • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, sheet metal work, and industry installation methods
    • Comfortable interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and project specs
    • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, EDGE) and Microsoft Office

  • Skills & Attributes

    • Highly analytical with attention to detail
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Capable of managing multiple bids and deadlines concurrently
    • Solutions-oriented with strong negotiation and vendor coordination abilities
    • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team

  • Additional Requirements
