HAYS Recruitment is partnering with a fantastic client to find a Manufacturing Fabrication Manager for their operations in Coquitlam, BC.

YOUR NEW ROLE

This role involves overseeing the fabrication shop, managing a team of fabricators, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication techniques, excellent leadership skills, and be proficient with computers, particularly in inventory and materials handling.

YOUR NEW RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of fabricated components.
  • Implement and oversee maintenance schedules for electrical and mechanical equipment within the shop.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical safety standards and regulations.
  • Develop and manage budgets for fabrication projects, including cost estimation and resource allocation.
  • Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and sustainability within the fabrication processes.
  • Oversee all activities in the fabrication shop, ensuring quality standards, safety protocols, and project deadlines are met.
  • Supervise and guide a team of fabricators, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement effective fabrication strategies, workflows, and procedures to optimize production.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring availability for projects while minimizing excess stock and waste.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to plan and schedule fabrication projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of fabrication activities, including production reports and inventory logs.
  • Address issues or obstacles during the fabrication process, implementing corrective measures.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and equipment maintenance.
  • Stay updated with the latest fabrication techniques, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.

YOUR SKILLSET

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication shop management.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Expertise in pipeline manufacturing.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including inventory management software, project management tools, MS Office Suite, and ERP experience (Jonas Software preferred).
  • Familiarity with inventory control and materials handling principles.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures within a fabrication shop environment.
