Position: Interim Direct of Finance

Location: Toronto, ON

Schedule: 3 days a week on-site

Job Type: 3-month contract to start

We’re seeking an Interim Director of Finance to lead the external audit process while overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, and compliance for a purpose-driven organization. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide financial strategy, mentor a dedicated team, and contribute to impactful programs that make a real difference in the community.

What You’ll Do:

– Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and audits

– Drive budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with senior leadership

– Oversee payroll, grant reporting, and funder compliance

– Provide decision-making support with key financial insights

– Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and payroll team

– Support fundraising initiatives and financial planning for growth

– Manage risk, ensure internal controls, and optimize finance processes

What You Bring:

– CPA designation (required)

– 5+ years of senior finance or accounting leadership experience

– Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance

– Experience in not-for-profit, healthcare, or public sector environments is a plus

– Skilled in strategic thinking, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration

– A passion for community impact, equity, and continuous improvement
