We are looking for a<br/><br/>bilingual Driver Safety & Recruiter<br/><br/>who will play a dual and dynamic role within our operations team. This individual will be responsible for sourcing and onboarding qualified drivers while ensuring compliance with all safety standards, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-oriented, and passionate about safety and operational excellence.<br/><br/>Key Responsibilities
Recruitment (50%)
Source, screen, and recruit qualified Class 1/AZ drivers and owner-operators across Canada and the U.S.
Conduct phone interviews, verify driving records (MVR), and schedule road tests.
Coordinate and manage the onboarding and orientation process.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of driver candidates through job fairs, online platforms, and driver referrals.
Maintain accurate recruitment records and reporting metrics.<br/><br/>Safety & Compliance (50%)
Conduct safety orientation for new drivers, ensuring understanding of GTI policies and regulatory requirements.
Monitor driver files and ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and provincial regulations.
Track hours of service, incidents, and violations, and provide corrective actions or training where necessary.
Support safety audits and manage internal reporting.
Collaborate with operations and dispatch to ensure ongoing driver performance reviews and coaching.<br/><br/>Requirements
Bilingual: Fluent in<br/><br/>English and French<br/><br/>(spoken and written) – essential
Minimum 2 years of experience in driver recruiting and/or safety coordination in the transportation industry
Strong understanding of driver compliance requirements (FMCSA, DOT, etc.)
Experience using recruiting platforms, ATS, and driver qualification systems
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
