Venor is proud to partner with L&A Metalworks Inc. in their search for an Estimator to join their team.

Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, L&A Metalworks Inc. is a trusted metal fabricator serving a select group of OEMs that supply critical infrastructure to industrial clients—including oil refineries and power-generating plants. With a reputation for precision and reliability, L&A manufactures complex, made-to-print process systems designed for gas flow diversion and pollution extraction.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-starting Estimator to join a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping project outcomes while staying engaged in the daily operational pulse of the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reviewing bid documents, preparing bids, quotes, and estimations, identifying potential opportunities, obtaining technical documentation & specifications.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Managing projects and contracts from the bidding process through to purchase order acceptance and project delivery.
  • Managing customer and contractor documentation transmittals.
  • Managing QA/QC documentation and processes.
  • Interfacing with the Operations Manager and Shop Personnel.

What we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and practical experience
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment
  • Proficiency in the bidding process, Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A detail-oriented, results-driven mindset with strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, as well as within a collaborative team
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to analyze, forecast, and perform under pressure
