Company Overview:
A well-funded, publicly listed gold exploration company with an expanding portfolio across Ontario and Quebec. Backed by a strong technical team and long-term investor support, the company has recently secured three advanced-stage gold projects in Quebec and is now building its local technical team in Val d’Or.
Role Summary:
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Geologist will play a key role in supporting early-stage exploration programs across the company’s Quebec assets. The successful candidate will be based in Val d’Or and involved in mapping, trenching, sampling, target generation, and interpretation using Leapfrog and GIS tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological mapping, prospecting, and trenching activities
- Oversee sampling programs and field data collection
- Interpret and model geological data using Leapfrog and GIS platforms
- Assist in target generation and exploration planning
- Prepare technical reports and contribute to NI 43-101 compliant documentation
- Work closely with field teams and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations
Qualifications:
- BSc or MSc in Geology or Earth Sciences
- 3+ years’ experience in mineral exploration (Senior Geologist: 6+ years)
- Proficiency in Leapfrog and GIS software (QGIS or ArcGIS)
- Strong understanding of gold systems and Quebec geology
- Fluent in French and English (spoken and written)
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work in the field
Location:
This is a site-based role in Val d’Or, with work across regional project sites. Candidates must be based locally or open to relocation.
