Description

The Receptionist and School Administrator is the first point of contact for students, staff, families, and visitors. The Receptionist will meet, greet and direct all arrivals in a warm, friendly, professional and efficient manner. They will manage the daily student attendance process and tracking, and report relevant information to the Principal. This position works in a procedural, collaborative manner with faculty, students, parents, and staff in keeping with the school’s vision, philosophy, and strategic plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional, friendly help and direction to members of our school
  • Ensures the reception area is always inviting and presentable
  • Schedules appointments and manages calendars for Principal and VP Operations
  • Answers main phone lines, actively monitors visitors to the school and verifies guest identification
  • Acts as gatekeeper for the safety of community members upon entrance
  • Helps to execute crisis management protocols during evacuations and drills
  • Oversees the full attendance process in a timely manner
  • Tracks student arrivals and departures during the school day
  • Communicates with parents and Principal daily
  • Performs routine administrative functions as required, such as correspondence preparation, scheduling, mailings, mail, and maintaining electronic files
  • Orders office and kitchen supplies
  • Maintains database and updates records
  • Acts as point person for guest teachers
  • Organizes buses
  • Assists with planning events and school trips
  • Assists with light bookkeeping

Requirements:

  • Receptionist experience, ideally in an educational environment
  • Outstanding customer service focus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and over the telephone
  • Proven ability to be vigilant with respect to security issues
  • Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Competence in the effective use of databases
  • Ability to prioritize and handle confidential information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to remain flexible
