Description
Our client, a leading North American medical device manufacturer, is currently seeking a Program Manager to join their team immediately on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be joining a team of experience with 40 years of experience manufacturing medical devices. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be leading cross-functional teams, driving alignment and accountability to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery throughout the product development lifecycle—from design concept to production launch. This position will be working out of their office in Woodbridge, Ontario.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Develop and implement program strategies, plans and goals.
- Establish and monitor performance targets, budgets and timelines.
- Oversee program execution to ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and influence Extended Operations Team and Core Team to ensure on-time and on-budget performance through the new product development cycle.
- Create strategic solutions to meet anticipated customer and business needs with predictability and certainty.
- Ensure scope, cost, resource and schedule alignment between operations and core team functions.
- Follow compliance processes for New Product Development.
- Negotiate trade-offs and create mutually beneficial results.
- Execute pre-established Operations Strategies.
- Ensure structured problem methods and predictive engineering principles are consistently and rigorously applied, such as Design for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar concepts.
- Review results / situations, and determine follow-up action plans to meet deadlines
- Create reports for internal use and for client presentations.
- Coach and develop extended Operations members, to help individuals advance their skills and careers, provide performance feedback, and recognize teams and individuals for exceptional performance.
- Travel required and is usually planned to meet project needs.
- Adaptable and flexible to take on additional work requirements and core responsibilities, as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Industrial, Mechanical, Material Science, Chemical, Biomedical, Electrical
- PMP Certification
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience with full understanding of product lifecycle development and various technology methodologies
- Experience with class 2 or 3 medical device product development and a strong understanding of FDA, ICH and IEC standards
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment and program management including: operations, quality, production, engineering, etc.
- Excellent Communication skills and experience delivering presentations to external clients
- Effective Project Management skills: budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, issue resolution and risk management
- Effective problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset using predictive Engineering Principles
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Flexibility with work schedule to manage international team communications and development
