Description
Our client, a well-established civil construction company specializing in earthworks, underground utilities, and roadworks, is looking to hire a Project Manager to oversee all site services at Highland Valley Copper Mine. This role is critical in managing contracts, coordinating prime contractor responsibilities, and ensuring successful delivery of infrastructure within one of BC’s largest mining facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all site services for the Highland Valley Copper Mine, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
- Oversee full contracts administration, including negotiation, compliance, and change management.
- Act as the prime contractor representative, coordinating directly with the client, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Lead scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and resource management for complex site operations.
- Manage documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders, while ensuring accurate project reporting.
- Chair internal and external project meetings and resolve issues proactively.
- Uphold the clients strong safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Ideal Candidate:
- 7+ years of progressive project management experience in civil construction, mining, or heavy industrial infrastructure.
- Proven background managing prime contractor responsibilities on large-scale infrastructure or mining facility projects.
- Strong expertise in contracts management, including CCDC and mine-specific agreements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in project management and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. P.Eng or PMP designation is considered an asset.
