About the Job:

We are hiring a Inventory Control Specialist to join our Warehouse team on the Pape Tunnel Underground Station (PTUS). This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting control of inventory within the warehouse. This includes physically validating all stock, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and securing proper supporting documentation (e.g., delivery notes, issue slips, purchase orders). Their constant presence on-site enables quick intervention in case of discrepancies, improves coordination between logistics and finance, and strengthens real-time control over inventory. This role plays a critical function in ensuring inventory accuracy, transparency, and compliance with internal control policies. The On-Site Warehouse Accountant also supports audit activities, collaborates with both accounting and operational teams, and actively contributes to process improvements and operational efficiency.

What You Will Be Doing?

  • Ensure consistent presence on site for direct intervention in case of discrepancies, material quality issues, and stock logistics concerns.
  • Monitoring daily operations, and ensuring adherence to procedures and timelines.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions and implement preventive measures against climate-related risks to avoid material damage. This includes controlling humidity and temperature levels, protecting from direct sunlight, using suitable packaging, and scheduling regular inspections to preserve material quality and maintain inventory integrity.
  • Oversee and lead warehouse personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring daily operations, and ensuring adherence to procedures and timelines.
  • Verify and record real-time inventory movements, including material receipts, dispatches, returns, and internal transfers, ensuring accurate data entry and accountability.
  • Conduct daily or weekly physical checks of stock items to ensure alignment with accounting records, and initiate corrective actions when discrepancies are found.
  • Ensure that every movement is properly supported by documentation (purchase orders, delivery notes, issue slips, etc.) and maintain full traceability.
  • Maintain both physical and digital archives of all warehouse-related logistical and accounting documents, ensuring audit readiness.
  • Manage the execution of cycle counts and full inventory audits, and prepare detailed, manager-approved reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in and, when required, lead operational meetings to discuss inventory and accounting findings, and proactively propose improvements to warehouse processes and systems.
  • Provide accounting support during on-site audits or internal control visits, and act as the main point of contact for external and internal auditors regarding warehouse matters.
  • Collaborate closely with the office-based team for monthly inventory reconciliations and stock valuation, providing supervisory input and sign-off when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies, warehouse safety regulations, and company standards. Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement among warehouse staff.
  • Support the Project warehouse team by providing solutions to issues on all the proprietary platforms/software being utilized

What We Are Looking For?

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the Construction and transit industry in a similar role
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works.
  • Knowledge of logistics documentation and ERP or WMS systems. SAP highly preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work in dynamic environments, solve issues on site, and communicate effectively with operational staff.
  • Good understanding of financial accounting concepts
