Position: Site Superintendent

Location: St. Catharine’s, ON

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000

Overview:

A well-established General Contractor specializing in (ICI) new build projects is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee construction operations in St. Catharine’s. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and scheduling standards are consistently achieved on large-scale ICI new build projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to completion, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • Enforce site safety policies, conducting regular inspections and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to resolve challenges, implement changes, and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure all work meets design intent and quality expectations.
  • Lead site meetings, monitor progress, and maintain accurate daily site logs and reports.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to site staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.

Skills and Experience:

  • ICI Construction Expertise: Proven experience managing Institutional, Commercial, or Industrial new build projects from ground-up through completion.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to direct and motivate on-site teams while maintaining productive relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Communication: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with a focus on proactive problem-solving.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, including at least 5 years as a Site Superintendent overseeing ICI new builds.
  • Education: Post-secondary education or technical training in construction management or a related discipline is an asset.
