Job Title: User Experience (UX) Designer III / Lead Product Designer, Retirement
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (37.5 hours/week)

Role Overview
As a Lead Product Designer, you will be at the forefront of crafting outstanding user experiences across multiple channels, including websites and mobile platforms. You will lead design initiatives that enhance retirement readiness for users, drive business results, and shape the future of digital products. You will collaborate with Accessibility Specialists, Service Designers, Experience Strategists, Content Designers, and Researchers in a creative and inclusive environment.
This role involves solving complex challenges by designing intuitive, engaging solutions that elevate digital properties and create measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Design: Design B2C applications across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms, with an emphasis on mobile apps.
- Design Process: Lead design exploration, user testing, and research to inform product roadmaps and experience improvements.
- Design Systems: Apply and maintain design systems to ensure visual and interactive consistency, including regular audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and teams to integrate experience strategies into product roadmaps.
- Design Assets: Produce wireframes, flow diagrams, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals; coach others on design artifacts.
- User Testing: Conduct and synthesize user testing findings to refine solutions and ensure user-centric design aligned with business objectives.
- Experience Vision: Drive initiatives that elevate product design quality and impact in alignment with organizational goals.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on next-generation user experiences, emerging technologies, and innovative practices.
Candidate Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- Minimum 8+ years of product design experience.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and end-to-end digital product design processes (user validation, flows, content modeling, wireframing, prototyping, testing, high-fidelity visuals).
- Experience with design systems and collaboration tools such as Figma, Mural, UserTesting.com, and Adobe platforms.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with web standards (W3C, Section 508) and front-end development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Accessibility expertise (WCAG, AODA) and demonstrated experience implementing accessibility standards.
- Proven record of delivering successful digital products.
- Awareness of technical constraints and limitations across digital platforms (desktop, Android, iOS).
Soft Skills
- Advocate for design excellence and user-centered solutions.
- Leadership in design projects, including cross-functional collaboration with engineering and product teams.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to articulate design ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
Portfolio Required: Must include a portfolio showcasing design projects, process, craftsmanship, and measurable outcomes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communications, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent industry experience.
