Job Purpose & Description

We are seeking an eager strategic procurement professional looking for a challenging and rewarding career in End to End procurement. This individual will report to the Director of Procurement and will spend majority of their time evaluating the North American packaging supplier network to find efficiencies which drive cost savings and/or operational excellence. The individual will also review external data and calculate pricing as well as forecasting. Aside from deep critical analysis, the Sourcing Specialist will regularly interact with both internal and external stakeholders to negotiate agreements and address the qualitative requirements of sourcing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the company wide packaging spend sourcing strategy for North America in conjunction with the overall procurement global/regional strategy.
  • Develop and implement spend category/sourcing strategies to achieve business objectives for key stakeholders.
  • Pursue implementation of ‘category management’ processes and bring innovation, change management and new opportunities to the company to ensure total cost reduction for the category.
  • Conduct tender for major packaging acquisition, support commercial and risk analysis through interviews, ensure sufficient levels of competition and pursue creative supply strategies.
  • Negotiate and finalize contractual agreement with key suppliers.
  • Calculate resin price and forecasting
  • Actively contribute to the global community of category managers in moving toward standardization and integration of processes, systems and practices.

Job Requirements

Education & Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Change Management Certification preferred

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement with similar categories within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated change management experience with the ability to design and implement category management practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver large savings over a broad range of products and services
  • Experience in working in a matrix organizational structure is an asset
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in contract negotiation for similar categories
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience in supplier management (Preferred)
  • Experience in SAP (Preferred)

Working Conditions

This position is based out of the company’s corporate office in Oakville, ON but may require travel to vendor locations and various company plants/distribution centres throughout North America. The job will require the successful candidate to be on site a minimum of three times a week

Travel

Employee will be required to travel 10% of the time; Employee may need to occasionally visit other company locations.
