Responsibilities:

The Lands and Resources Cluster (LRC) and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA) require a Senior Information Architect to update the Enterprise Architecture for their AgriSuite Portfolio (AgriSuite) .

The Services to be provided to LRC and OMAFA will include the following:

  • Providing leadership, guidance, and support services to the project team and business subject matter experts related to the creation and management of all project-related models/artefacts/diagrams, documentation and plans; as well as facilitation of project tasks;
  • Being responsible for the update/development and validation of all required high level information architecture models/artefacts, documents and materials according to LRC Enterprise Architecture team’s guidance, industry best practices, GO-ITS standards and OPS guidelines using the appropriate version;
  • Leveraging existing Ministry’s business and information architecture models/artefacts, if available, including project architectures and the OMAFA’s existing architecture, as well as any other relevant Ministry materials to be aligned and integrated with, to develop/update the information architecture models/artefacts.
  • Leverage OPS/cluster/ministry tools and model repository, if available and appropriate, e.g. PowerDesigner, Rational System Architect, as directed;
  • Arrange and facilitate validation sessions;
  • Develop/revise business requirements artefacts according to LRC cluster EA team’s guidance;
  • Participate in review and information sharing meetings, as required;
  • Support Agile Enterprise Architecture delivery during the project, if required.
  • Participate in physical co-location with other architecture team members and, if required
  • Arrange and facilitate Enterprise Architecture (EA) meetings;
  • Support the process of acquiring project cluster and corporate approvals if or as required;
  • Provide status updates to both the project team and EA unit;
  • Provide transfer of knowledge and project deliverables to both the project team, and the EA unit on an on-going basis;
  • Adhere to OPS GO-ITS Standards, specifically GO-ITS 56.0, GO-ITS 56.1, GO-ITS 56.3, and others, as required;
  • Revise architectures per action and/or conditions arising from LRC’s governance body and
  • Corporate EA Governance review bodies; if or as required;

Utilize, reuse, and incorporate OPS Reference Architectures into the project architectures;

  • Ensure alignment with any other related and relevant business materials

Mandatory Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading in-depth and complex information architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects, to support new and changed enterprise priorities and initiatives, and client clusters’ and their clients’ information architecture and/or business needs
  • Demonstrated experience in defining, identifying and describing information architectural requirements with clients, and obtaining I&IT management approval
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise architecture to undertake the specified services and deliverables, including experience with integration of IA to other EA (Enterprise Architecture) domains, Agile Enterprise Architecture delivery and working with CASE, EA and BPMN modelling tools such as PowerDesigner
  • 5+ years of experience

  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating requirement gathering workshops and review sessions with complex solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in defining, identifying and describing information architectural requirements with clients, and obtaining I&IT management approval
  • Demonstrated experience in leading information architecture workshops
  • Experience with providing leadership, guidance and support services to the project

team and business subject matter experts related to the creation and management of all project-related models/artefacts/diagrams, documentation and plans; as well as facilitation of project tasks

Information Architecture Experience – 55%

  • Demonstrated experience in creation of Resource Types, data models (Conceptual , Normalized Logical or physical models) and capturing information integration requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in defining, identifying and describing information architectural requirements with clients, and obtaining I&IT management approval
  • Demonstrated experience in leading in-depth and complex information architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects, to support new and changed enterprise priorities and initiatives, and client clusters’ and their clients’ information architecture and/or business needs

EA Methodologies and Tools – 25%

  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise architecture to undertake the specified services and deliverables, including experience with integration of IA to other EA (Enterprise Architecture) domains, Agile Enterprise Architecture delivery and working with CASE, EA and BPMN modelling tools such as PowerDesigner
  • Demonstrated experience in determining Resource Types, using existing Business Process Models
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and normalizing Logical Data Models (With complete attributes, data type and data size
  • Demonstrated experience in developing information architecture specifications through interpretation of relevant Business Architecture models
  • Demonstrated experience in information modeling for Siebel based applications
  • Demonstrated experience in leading in-depth and complex information architecture reviews and assessments, development and/or support projects, to support new and changed enterprise priorities and initiatives, and client clusters’ and their clients’ information architecture and/or business needs

OPS Experience – 5%

  • Experience working within the OPS Enterprise Architecture Framework and achieving required approvals, including experience with EA Governance Points for corporate ARB approvals
