HR Generalist – Vernon, BC

Full-Time • Hybrid + Relocation Support

They are seeking an adaptable and dedicated HR Generalist to join their growing team in Vernon, British Columbia. This individual will play a key role in supporting the attraction, development, retention, and engagement of employees across multiple locations. The role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, enjoys being hands-on, and is passionate about supporting people, culture, and organizational growth.

This is a full-time role with a hybrid work arrangement (on-site 2–3 days per week). A modest relocation subsidy is available for qualified candidates outside the city or province.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance management, compensation support (including benefits), and offboarding.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, employment legislation, and workplace practices.
  • Assist with employee relations, investigations, documentation, and resolution support while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity; experience with SuccessFactors is an asset.
  • Generate meaningful HR reports and support system/process improvements.
  • Support health and safety initiatives, return-to-work processes, compliance tracking, and provincial/federal requirements.
  • Participate in culture-building initiatives, employee engagement efforts, and internal communication activities.
  • Support apprenticeship programs, probation tracking, compensation changes, and other time-sensitive HR processes.
  • Collaborate with HR team members across Canada and internationally to align with organizational standards.
  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with the BC Employment Standards Act, as well as applicable federal requirements and union relationships where applicable.

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within industrial, construction, heavy equipment, or similar environments.
  • Strong experience in recruiting, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and HR administration.
  • Knowledge of compensation, benefits administration, and employment legislation (provincial and federal)
  • Experience supporting unionized environments is an asset.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and coach managers.
  • Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize deadlines, and manage multiple workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms; SuccessFactors experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; CPHR designation (or working toward it) considered a strong asset.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

  • Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Full health & dental benefits + company-sponsored RRSP program.
  • Hybrid model: On-site presence required 2–3 days per week.
  • Relocation Support: A modest relocation subsidy is available for candidates located outside BC or Vernon.
