Supply Chain Manager – Food Manufacturing (Pointe-Claire, QC)
Full-Time | On-Site | Food Production / CPG
We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to lead all supply chain functions for a fast-paced food manufacturing operation specializing in nutritional products and protein bars. This role oversees procurement, forecasting, production planning, inventory, and logistics while ensuring cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, and strict compliance with food safety standards.
The Supply Chain Manager will supervise one Supply Chain Specialist and work closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Finance, and external suppliers to keep production running smoothly and customers fully supported.
What You’ll Do
Forecasting & Planning
- Build accurate demand forecasts aligned with sales and production requirements.
- Convert forecasts into raw material and packaging needs.
- Optimize production runs to minimize downtime, waste, and changeovers.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source and negotiate pricing for ingredients such as protein powders, sweeteners, binders, inclusions, and all packaging materials.
- Secure competitive contracts and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Ensure suppliers meet HACCP, SQF, GMP, and other food safety standards.
- Work with customers as required to support pricing updates and contract details.
Inventory & Materials Management
- Oversee raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate counts and prevent shortages or overstock.
- Implement effective inventory control programs (FIFO/FEFO).
- Reduce carrying costs while ensuring uninterrupted production.
Logistics & Distribution
- Manage freight partners and negotiate transportation rates.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across Canada and the U.S.
- Support efficient cross-border logistics, customs documentation, and carrier performance.
- Oversee warehouse organization and material flow.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Support food safety compliance with HACCP, SQF, GMP, and GFSI requirements.
- Maintain accurate supply chain documentation and audit readiness.
- Track KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turns, lead times, and waste reduction.
- Lead cost-saving and process-improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of supply chain, procurement, or purchasing experience—ideally in food manufacturing, CPG, or nutritional products.
- Strong experience with production planning, forecasting, inventory management, and vendor negotiation.
- Experience managing cross-border logistics or U.S. suppliers is an asset.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP.
- SAP experience required.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
