CAD Railway Industries est une entreprise québécoise active depuis plus de 60 ans, spécialisée dans la réparation, la conversion et la remise à neuf d’équipements ferroviaires (wagons et locomotives).

L’entreprise possède des ateliers et des bureaux à Montréal (secteur Lachine) et en Alberta (sous la bannière Caltrax).

Notre mission est de réparer, prolonger la durée de vie et moderniser les équipements confiés par nos clients afin de leur donner une seconde vie.

Nos équipes conçoivent des équipements répondant aux besoins de nos clients, tant pour le transport de marchandises que de passagers.

Sommaire du poste

Le planificateur de projets joue un rôle clé dans la mise en œuvre et le suivi quotidien des projets.

Il ou elle contribue à l’optimisation des opérations et de la production afin d’assurer l’avancement des projets selon les engagements contractuels, tout en respectant les délais, les coûts et l’utilisation optimale des ressources.

Responsabilités principales

  • Établir, valider et maintenir les échéanciers de projets selon les objectifs et exigences contractuelles
  • Suivre l’avancement des activités et mettre à jour les échéanciers
  • Adapter les échéanciers selon les contraintes matérielles, financières et humaines
  • Assurer la coordination entre les différents départements
  • Participer à l’analyse de la capacité de production et à l’ingénierie des projets
  • Superviser la bonne exécution des projets à toutes les étapes
  • Assurer le respect des délais grâce à une communication régulière avec les parties prenantes internes
  • Identifier les risques, analyser les écarts et proposer des plans de mitigation ou de rattrapage
  • Suivre les indicateurs de performance (KPI) et gérer les obstacles de façon proactive
  • Participer aux réunions de projets et contribuer à la recherche de solutions
  • Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe

Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat en ingénierie, ou dans un domaine connexe
  • 7 à 10 ans d’expérience dans un poste similaire, en milieu manufacturier
  • Expérience avec MS Project et Excel
  • Certification MS Project (un atout)
  • Expérience en analyse des coûts, des budgets et du retour sur investissement (ROI)
  • Expérience en analyse du chemin critique, planification judiciaire et gestion des ressources
  • Certification PMP (un atout)
  • Expérience dans l’industrie du matériel roulant ferroviaire
  • Capacité à travailler sous pression avec des délais serrés
  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs projets simultanément
  • Esprit d’équipe, leadership et proactivité
  • Bonnes aptitudes en résolution de problèmes et en communication
  • Capacité à communiquer en anglais environ 50 % du temps

CAD Railway Industries is an ambitious Quebec company, in business for more than 60 years, specializing in the repair, conversion and reconditioning of railway equipment (cars and locomotives of all kinds) that has workshops and offices in Montreal (Lachine sector) and Alberta (under the Caltrax banner).

Over the years, our mission has become more precise in order to become a responsible company that seeks to repair and extend the life of the equipment whose work our customers entrust to us or, in many situations, to modernize it and literally give it a 2nd life.

In their projects, our teams therefore see to designing equipment that will meet the needs of these same customers who work on both the cargo and passenger side.

Position Summary:

The incumbent of this position will play a key role in the implementation and day-to-day monitoring of our projects. Through his/her actions and rigorous monitoring, he/she will contribute to optimizing operations and production, in order to ensure the progress of projects in accordance with our contractual commitments. This includes optimal use of human and material resources, compliance with delivery deadlines to customers, as well as cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, validate and maintain project schedules according to the organization’s objectives and contractual requirements;
  • Monitor the progress of project activities and update timelines accordingly;
  • Adapt schedules according to material, financial and human constraints;
  • Consult with the heads of the different departments to ensure optimal coordination between the different groups, taking into account the capacities of the organization;
  • Participate in the analysis of production capacity and project engineering;
  • Intervene at each stage of the project and supervise its proper execution;
  • Ensure that deadlines are met by maintaining regular communication with all internal stakeholders;
  • Identify risks and collaborate with teams to preserve deadlines, analyze deviations, propose mitigation/catch-up plans;
  • Ensure the progress of the project by ensuring that each step is respected and that objectives are achieved on time. This includes tracking KPIs, proactively managing obstacles, as well as aligning resources to ensure project success;
  • Actively participate in project meetings and contribute to the search for solutions;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences or similar
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar position and in a manufacturing environment;
  • Demonstrated experiencewith MS Project and Excel;
  • MS Project certification (an asset)
  • Experience in cost, budget, ROI (return on investment) analysis;
  • Experience in forensic scheduling, critical path analysis, resource loading task to support preparation of Entension of Time and Claims documents.
  • PMP certification (an asset);
  • Experience in the railway rolling stock manufacturing industry ;
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to write and discuss issues consicely and effectively
  • Initiative, leadership and proactivity;
  • Excellent ability to communicate with all levels of the hierarchy and to mobilize a team;
  • The incumbent must be able to communicate well in English (50% of the time), as his or her duties require interactions with stakeholders and colleagues outside Quebec or Canada.
