We’re building a next-gen media platform at the edge of anime, games, and tech. This is not a “clock-in” role. It’s an ownership path. If you bring world-class craft, speed, and heart, you’ll shape worlds, share in the upside, and be credited as a founder of what we’re building.

The Role

Join our Manga Studio as a Manga Artist (Founding Equity Partner) to create original series like Amedo: Visions of the Gods and one-shots that anchor Anime Universe’s cross-media franchises (manga → anime → games → UGC). You’ll collaborate with writers, designers, and producers to deliver chapters that slap visually, emotionally, commercially.

What You’ll Do

  • Own page-ready art from thumbnails to final: layouts, inks, screentones, FX, lettering passes.
  • Craft dynamic paneling, cinematic framing, and action clarity across shonen/seinen/shojo/josei tones.
  • Co-create with writers on storyboards, pacing, and page turns; iterate fast inside sprints.
  • Build character/creature/prop sheets and style guides for cross-team use.
  • Throughput target @ 20h/wk: 4–6 finished pages/week or 8–12 roughs/week (title/scene complexity may adjust).
  • Develop pilot one-shots and pitch packs for greenlight.
  • Mentor future artists as we scale the studio.

🛠 Your Toolkit

  • Portfolio that proves range (combat, quiet moments, expressions, environments).
  • Fluency with Clip Studio Paint EX (preferred), plus Photoshop/Procreate; clean file hygiene.
  • Mastery of tones/halftones, speedlines, SFX integration, and print/export standards.
  • Strong fundamentals: anatomy, perspective, composition, lighting, fabric/hair/FX.
  • Bonus: Japanese/English bilingual, background art prowess, 3D block-ins, or color keys.

How We Work (Part-Time)

  • Remote-first, globally integrated team, sprint-driven
  • Clear briefs, rapid feedback, kind teammates.
  • 20h/wk with ~4 hours overlap for standups/reviews.

Compensation & Credit (Equity Partner Track)

  • Equity: (shares) at founding partner level (vesting standard)
  • Salary: activates with revenue-based milestones as product monetizes
  • Royalties/Revenue Share: per-title participation, credited placement, and IP upside.
  • Pathways: Art Lead, Series Art Director, Franchise Visual Architect.

First 90 Days

  • Day 30–45: Ship an 8–12p pilot one-shot + core character sheets; lock visual language.
  • Day 60: Deliver first chapter (16–24p); stabilize throughput at 4–6 ppw finished.
  • Day 90: Deliver second chapter (16–24p); prep greenlight pack (covers, promo spreads, style guide v1).

Portfolio Checklist (attach links)

  • 3+ sequential page sets (action + quiet scene).
  • 1 character sheet pack (turns + expressions + poses).
  • 1 environment spread (perspective + mood).
  • Optional: FX/tones breakdown or process timelapse.
