Our client, a well-established law firm in British Columbia, is seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support its Corporate/Commercial practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys working closely with lawyers, clients, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close client files and prepare pre-bills
- Manage lawyers’ calendars, meeting schedules, and Bring Forward systems
- Draft agreements, supporting documents, and correspondence based on written instructions or verbal direction
- Conduct, review, and organize due diligence searches
- Complete and manage filings through BC Online, LTSA, and the BC Personal Property Registry
- Organize and maintain corporate precedents and records
- Respond to day-to-day inquiries and administrative requests
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications & Experience
- Paralegal or Legal Assistant with a Corporate/Commercial background
- Proficiency with BC Online, LTSA, and BC Personal Property Registry filings
- Strong understanding of corporate structures, trusts, and partnerships
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply legal documentation and legislation
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Team-focused, flexible, and client-service oriented
