What’s the job?

We are seeking a detail oriented and self-directed Bi-Lingual Payroll Specialist to manage the accurate and timely processing of company payroll, benefits, and statutory reporting across multiple business units. Select responsibilities include:

  • Process bi-weekly Canadian permanent payrolls and separate expense payrolls runs
  • Receive payroll updates from HR, set up new hires, and maintain employee and benefit records
  • Prepare payroll funding requests and coordinate bank file uploads and confirmations through BMO
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable and Helpdesk to ensure timely payroll and EFT processing
  • Process ROEs, termination and final pay calculations, and off-cycle payroll adjustments
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll tax, garnishment, and pension requisitions
  • Generate pension reports and files for upload to Canada Life and support pension remittances
  • Manage monthly commission payments, including approval follow-ups and final sign-off
  • Administer employee benefits, including Manulife updates, benefit class changes, and employee communications
  • Process benefit invoices, EFT withdrawals, and monthly and quarterly reconciliations
  • Balance quarterly tax reporting with CRA and BMO
  • Support annual payroll activities including T4s, RLs, T2200s, and vacation pay on commissions

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 3 years’ managing payroll in multiple Canadian Provinces
  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset
  • PCP designation or actively working towards it
  • Sage 300, or similar work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, CRA requirements, and year-end processes
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and deadline management
