<p><b>Heavy Equipment Mechanic</b></p><p>Project XIII Inc has partnered with a leading residential and commercial construction firm. Our partner is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their team. </p><p>The location for this role is on-site at their Ottawa location. </p><p><br></p><p><b>About the Opportunity</b></p><p>The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with various power and hand tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all machinery operates safely and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. </p><p><br></p><p><b>What You Will Do</b></p><ul><li>Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery</li><li>Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools</li><li>Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems</li><li>Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for equipment repair or modification</li><li>Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs accurately</li><li>Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper function</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership or industrial repair background preferred</li><li>Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, automotive repair, and schematics interpretation</li><li>Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other heavy equipment</li><li>Proficiency in welding, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical assembly, and use of hand tools and power tools</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Who You Are</b></p><p>You are professional and experienced mechanic passionate about maintaining heavy machinery critical to operations across various industries. </p><p><br></p><p><b>Salary Range</b></p><p>$60,000 – $90,000 based on experience.</p>
