The Role

We’re seeking an experienced estates law clerk to join our team and eventually take the reins from our senior estates law clerk. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can run estate files from start to finish with lawyer supervision.

You’ll handle approximately 40 estate files, managing probate applications, estate accountings, beneficiary communications, asset transfers, and all administration tasks. You’ll work in a paperless environment, that will primarily use Estateably. You’ll have an approximate 4-week shadowing period with our senior law clerk.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of estates administration experience 
  • Strong knowledge of probate procedures, estate accounting, and Ontario estate administration
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong client communication skills – approachable, empathetic, clear
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software (Estateably experience is a bonus)
  • Strong references
  • Educational credentials that meet professional requirements for estates work
  • Team player who gets along well with others – personality fit matters as much as competence in our small office
