<p>Freshco’s Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering multi-site retail construction projects across Canada and the United States, from planning through closeout. This role provides strategic leadership, oversight, and hands-on support to project managers and coordinators while ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with Freshco’s quality and safety standards.</p><p><br></p><p>As a key operational leader, the Senior Project Manager plays an important role in strengthening project management systems, mentoring team members, improving execution efficiency, and supporting overall business performance.</p><p><br></p><p>The Senior Project Manager is also a Freshco ambassador, representing the company with professionalism, integrity, and accountability to clients, contractors, and external stakeholders. This may include participation in industry events and direct engagement with store managers, corporate facilities teams, technicians, and other partners.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>Project Oversight & Leadership</b></p><ul><li>Oversee multiple active construction projects across a national portfolio and provide direction to project managers and coordinators</li><li>Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, safety metrics, and risk indicators across all assigned work</li><li>Serve as an escalation point for project issues, client concerns, and field challenges, ensuring timely resolution</li><li>Support continuous improvement of project delivery standards, tools, and reporting processes</li></ul><p><b>Direct Project Management</b></p><ul><li>Manage construction projects from pre-construction through closeout</li><li>Develop project estimates, budgets, schedules, work plans, and execution strategies</li><li>Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal field staff</li><li>Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality standards</li><li>Prepare and review change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation</li><li>Ensure all project records remain accurate and current within Freshco’s internal systems</li></ul><p><b>Team Development & Support</b></p><ul><li>Mentor, coach, and support project managers and coordinators to strengthen performance and consistency</li><li>Assist with workload planning, resource allocation, and staffing decisions across the project team</li><li>Provide training and reinforcement of Freshco’s project management procedures and documentation standards</li><li>Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing project culture</li></ul><p><b>Client & Stakeholder Management</b></p><ul><li>Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships across multiple regions</li><li>Participate in project meetings, presentations, and regular client updates</li><li>Ensure client expectations are clearly understood and proactively managed</li><li>Act as a key point of contact for stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle</li></ul><p><b>Financial & Operational Management</b></p><ul><li>Support estimating and pre-construction efforts as required</li><li>Track financial performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve margins</li><li>Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and project outcomes</li><li>Ensure projects align with Freshco’s operational, safety, and compliance standards</li></ul><p><b>Travel</b></p><ul><li>Expected travel throughout North America to job site locations</li><li>All travel will be approved by management</li></ul><p><b>Hours of Work</b></p><ul><li>After-hours (night and weekend) work may be required in addition to regular day work</li><li>Works remotely from home or job site in accordance with company policies and operational needs</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>5+ years of retail and/or construction project management experience</li><li>HVAC knowledge or experience considered a strong asset</li><li>Proven experience overseeing, mentoring, or supporting other project managers</li><li>Strong understanding of construction methods, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with project management software is an asset</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong client-facing presence with effective negotiation and relationship-building skills</li><li>Detail-oriented with a high standard for quality, safety, and execution</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Apply today!</b></p><p>Freshco is committed to equal employment opportunities and to attract and retain the most qualified employees regardless of race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age, or disability.
