Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Consultant for a 12 month+ contract engagement with a well established client of ours in the Vancouver area. The consultant will will support the development and maintenance of project budgets, schedule, and risk registers to ensure the project team are kept fully aware of the state of project(s).

Responsibilities

-Assist and support negotiation of contract exhibits for Cost, Schedule, milestone payments, progress payments, earned value measurement, change orders and unit rates as applicable.

-Assist in developing and implementing appropriate work processes, practices, and procedures.

-Assures reporting criteria, content, and format for monthly project status reports.

-Provide reports and analysis to internal and external customers on an as needed basis.

-Facilitates the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.

-Assists in the preparation of cost reports, variances, incurred, committed, budgets, and forecasted costs are explained and communicated.

-Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly labor, equipment, material and subtrade costs.

-Monitor cost accruals and reviews with the Project Manager on a regular basis

-Monitor and analyze project schedules, forecast of key dates versus that in projects baseline schedules.

-Develop schedules with Development Teams to identify overall project timelines, major deliverables, and project milestones.

– Interface with Project Manager and Execution Teams to develop an overall understanding of the project scope and execution strategy

-Liaise with PMO to further streamline systems and procedures and create awareness within the teams.

-Perform some independent analysis of data stored in the project management and cost control systems. Creates presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.

-Prepare a schedule with the appropriate level of detail for the execution phases of a project utilizing the established company work breakdown structure that aligns schedule tasks with the project budget.

-Analyze, evaluate, and forecast status against an established baseline schedule.

-This includes validation of physical progress measurement reported.

-Provide technical evaluation of the schedule to help the team effectively plan and manage project work, address scope changes, and mitigate schedule delays.

-Promote and support the digitalization objective to improve efficiencies, synergies and simplification.

-Control the drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions, and change order

Qualifications

-Technical background with 10+ experience in Project Controls in the Energy Industry.

-Working knowledge and experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, and other Microsoft Office products

-Prior Major Capital Project experience through design, construction, and commissioning.

-Strong self-starter who can work without close supervision.
