They are currently seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to take full ownership of site operations at a key Canadian facility.
About the Role:
This position carries end-to-end accountability for plant performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational consistency, strengthening internal processes, and building a high-performance culture rooted in safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who is equally comfortable on the production floor and in strategic planning discussions — a hands-on operator who thinks long-term.
Core Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Direct all plant operations to achieve established production, efficiency, and quality targets.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement initiatives that improve throughput and equipment reliability.
- Establish, refine, and enforce operating procedures and production standards.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, bill of materials integrity, and performance reporting.
- Optimize ERP utilization to support manufacturing processes and data accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational alignment across departments.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Lead structured improvement initiatives using recognized methodologies such as Lean and root cause analysis.
- Maintain rigorous safety and compliance standards across the facility.
- Ensure internal systems and certifications remain audit-ready and continuously improving.
- Support risk management, emergency preparedness, and internal control processes.
Team & Culture Development
- Provide leadership and direction to the operations leadership team.
- Build a culture grounded in accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.
- Guide workforce planning, training, and cross-functional capability development.
- Navigate employee relations matters within a unionized environment.
- Lead organizational change initiatives that support business growth.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years in senior plant-level leadership with full operational accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success improving efficiency, productivity, and overall equipment performance.
- Experience implementing structured continuous improvement frameworks.
- Strong systems acumen, including ERP usage within a production environment.
- Experience leading within a unionized setting is considered an asset.
