Description

We are looking for a Snowflake Cortex & Snowpark Specialist to design, implement, and optimize advanced data and AI-driven solutions within the Snowflake Data Cloud. You will work closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, and Business teams to build scalable pipelines, deploy GenAI capabilities, and integrate internal/external models using Snowflake’s latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and operationalize Snowflake Cortex Functions (LLM, embeddings, classification, summarization, translation, etc.).
  • Build RAG pipelines using Snowflake Vector Search and Cortex Search.
  • Integrate external AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) with Snowflake.
  • Develop Snowpark applications, UDFs, and transformations using Snowpark Python/Java.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance, compute, and storage within data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with architecture and governance teams to ensure secure and scalable AI-ready data environments.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate analytics and AI needs into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including warehouses, performance optimization, streams, tasks, and ELT/ETL pipelines.
  • Experience using Snowpark (Python and/or Java) to build data transformations, UDFs, and scalable compute workflows.
  • Knowledge or practical experience with Snowflake Cortex, including LLM functions, embeddings, vector search, and semantic/RAG architectures.
  • Understanding of vector embeddings, semantic search, and integration of external models like OpenAI or Anthropic.
  • Ability to design secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions within the Snowflake environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Expected Compensation Range:

60Hr CAD. (negotiable) The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications, in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.

Canadian Experience Requirement:

No Canadian work experience is required for this position. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of previous Canadian experience.
