Position Overview

 

The Construction Foreman is in the field and responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction operations of a pipe or civil crew. Responsibilities include managing a crew of 5-10 people, managing quality control, site safety, labour, equipment and material resources and crew production. 

 

Essential Functions

·      Lead a civil or pipe crew, ensuring production targets are met

·      Plan crew production activities and arrange for required materials and resources

·      Complete daily logs for project and crew

·      Ensure site compliance with project plans and specifications

·      Ensure site compliance with all health and safety requirements

 

Qualifications

·      Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction

·      Previous supervisory experience would be an asset

·      Effective communication and teamwork skills

·      Demonstrated ability to use initiative to achieve results

·      Effective problem-solving skills

·      Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
