Description
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Burlington, Ontario. This is a long-term contract position suited for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in wholesale distribution and accounting practices. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.Responsibilities:- Manage assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency in application.- Perform month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and supporting documentation.- Reconcile and maintain the integrity of balance sheet and income statement accounts.- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to identify and address process gaps and ensure compliance with organizational standards.- Recommend and implement process improvements based on compliance reports and team feedback.- Assist in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures for accounting tasks to support cross-training and onboarding.- Provide support for ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the wholesale distribution industry.- Proficiency in ERP systems and a solid understanding of enterprise resource planning processes.- Expertise in core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.- Strong skills in journal entry preparation, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures.- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to ensure financial data integrity.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to recommend process improvements.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
