Senior Project Manager – Capital Mining / Heavy Industrial Projects
Location: Remote / Hybrid — must be based in British Columbia
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major capital projects across mining, mineral processing, forestry, cement, and other heavy industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical project management capability, deep experience with large-scale capital mining and mineral processing projects, and a proven ability to manage projects from early-stage feasibility through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and handover.
This role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical judgment, and the ability to perform quality reviews across complex capital project deliverables. Candidates must have experience with both greenfield and brownfield developments and a demonstrated track record managing projects valued at $200M+.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full lifecycle leadership across major capital projects, including:
Feasibility studies, FEL / front-end loading, and concept development
Proposal preparation, bid strategy, and tendering processes
Detailed engineering coordination across multi-disciplinary teams
Procurement and contract execution strategy
Construction management and field execution oversight
Commissioning, start-up, project closeout, and handover
- Lead capital mining and mineral processing projects, including greenfield and brownfield developments
- Perform technical and quality reviews on project deliverables, engineering packages, execution plans, schedules, budgets, and construction documentation
- Own overall project accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and safety performance
- Lead project planning, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and reporting activities
- Manage cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors
- Support proposal development, estimating input, technical scopes, execution strategy, and client presentations
- Drive risk identification, mitigation planning, change management, and issue resolution
- Oversee contract administration, negotiations, commercial reviews, and claims management
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, technical, and quality standards
- Act as the primary interface with clients, stakeholders, site teams, vendors, and executive leadership
- Implement and maintain project controls, KPIs, governance, and reporting systems
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- 10+ years of experience with mineral processing plants, mine infrastructure, or large industrial facilities
- 10+ years of experience in project management
- Must have direct experience with capital mining and mineral processing projects
- Experience with both greenfield and brownfield project environments
- Demonstrated experience managing major capital projects valued at $200M+
- Strong technical skills with the ability to review engineering, construction, project controls, and quality-related deliverables
- Proven track record managing projects from feasibility and proposal development through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and closeout
- Strong knowledge of EPC, EPCM, and owner-side project delivery models
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams
- Site or construction management experience

All candidates must be able to work on-site as a Construction Project Manager on a rotational shift basis when projects move into the execution phase.
