Mission

Are you looking for a hands-on role that involves HR, labor relations, and occupational health and safety? As a local liaison, you’ll work closely with managers and employees to foster a healthy work environment and ensure workplace safety. Reporting to the HR-OHS Director, you’ll play a hands-on, versatile role in a unionized manufacturing setting, where your recommendations will be put into action.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Human Resources and Labor Relations:

  • Act as an ambassador by embodying and promoting the Soucy Group’s values
  • Manage the full employee recruitment, onboarding, and retention cycle
  • Implement HR policies (compensation, benefits, labor relations)
  • Advise managers on team management, conflict resolution, and labour relations
  • Participate in managing labour relations activities in a unionized environment
  • Advise and support managers in training and skills development
  • Ensure compliance with public order laws and internal standards

Occupational Health and Safety:

  • Support managers in enforcing OHS rules and policies
  • Participate in risk identification and the follow-up of corrective actions
  • Contribute to updating OHS programs and procedures
  • Coordinate or lead certain training sessions (orientation, refresher courses, best practices)
  • Support the documentation of accident investigations and CNESST follow-ups
  • Conduct on-site monitoring to identify deviations and assist managers in their actions

Profile

With the following skills and qualities, you will thrive in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on HR or Industrial Relations
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and standards, as well as OHS practices in Quebec
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable with both administrative work and hands-on work with team members
  • Discretion, sound judgment, and professional rigor
  • Autonomy and a sense of responsibility
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach
