Job Title: UX Designer

Pay Rate: CAD $85 per hour

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled UX Designer to create intuitive, user-friendly, and visually engaging digital experiences for web and mobile applications. The role involves leading end-to-end UX activities including user research, stakeholder workshops, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and interface design. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, developers, and QA teams to translate user needs and business goals into effective design solutions. Strong experience with tools such as Figma, design systems, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA), and user-centered design methodologies is essential. Experience working with complex digital products, legacy systems, and public sector or Ontario Design System standards is considered an asset.

Must Have:

• Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance.
• Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, designing for web and mobile applications.
• ability to define and lead UX projects and design workshops and alignment sessions with stakeholder, business users.
• Experience conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
• Skilled in conveying design concepts and development processes in a clear, understandable manner to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work with Ontario Design system or other similar Design systems.

Role and responsibilities.

• Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
• Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
• Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required.
• Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs.
• Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.
