We work selectively with clients who are committed to seeing their ideas come to life. Because of our passion for design, adaptive approach, and collaborative hands-on team, we have earned successful long-term relationships with many industry-leading organizations, creating products that have defined their categories and exceeded expectations. We’ve helped industry innovators gain market share, reinvigorated struggling brands, and supported ambitious start-ups in establishing themselves in competitive markets.
Form3 is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, open-minded workplace with a high degree of consideration for staff. We are looking for a committed individual open to a fixed length employment contract.
Role Overview
We’re looking for someone with 5-8 years of relevant professional experience. Your experience, along with well-developed skills should allow you to smoothly jump into multiple active projects and work under the direction of Senior staff.
As a designer at Form3 you will work collaboratively with other team members to take a design from the initial concept, through iterations of prototypes, to the production of final CAD files and specification drawings for manufacturing. You must have deep experience using Solidworks for both rapid concepts and detailing parts for production. You should be open-minded, well organized, and able to work on several projects at the same time. Your strong communication and social skills will help you to work through the challenges of product development in a team environment where the best path forward often requires constructive critique.
A good candidate for this role will cross the boundaries between Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering and be passionate about all phases of a project. If you are coming from a Mechanical Engineering background, you should be comfortable with conceptual thinking and capable of quickly communicating a wide range of solutions to a problem. If you are coming from an Industrial Design background your sensibilities should be skewed towards practical implementation of inspiring concepts with the know-how to execute them in detail. You should be comfortable detailing plastic parts and seals with consideration for critical tolerances. The ideal candidate will know how and when to balance conceptual thinking with practical consideration for production.
Portfolio’s should be submitted to careers@form3.com
