Description
Responsibilities
- Define and validate the satellite electrical architecture (power generation, storage, distribution, avionics interfaces)
- Perform power budget analysis, system sizing, and margin assessments across mission phases
- Design and specify key subsystems (batteries, solar arrays, power conditioning and distribution units)
- Conduct performance and robustness analyses (worst-case scenarios, thermal behavior, radiation effects)
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (ICDs, electrical schematics, specifications, test plans)
- Support system integration, verification, and validation activities (functional, environmental, performance testing)
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, thermal, propulsion, software) to ensure system consistency
- Interface with suppliers and support component selection, qualification, and issue resolution
Own the Electrical Power System (EPS) end-to-end, ensuring compliance with mission and system requirements
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (or eligible)
- 5+ years of experience in space, aerospace, or defense
- Strong experience in embedded electrical systems and power electronics
- French (spoken and written) is an asset
