The Brampton Board of Trade (BBOT) is looking for a relationship-first, commercially minded leader to help grow our membership, deepen member engagement, and strengthen our presence in the business community.

This is a high-impact role for someone who loves meeting people, starting conversations, building trust, and turning those relationships into long-term value for both members and the organization. You will lead new-member acquisition as well as support renewal and retention efforts, sponsorship and partner development, and the conversion of events and engagement opportunities into measurable growth.

Role Description

This is a full-time role based in Brampton, ON. The Manager – Membership Growth will be responsible for driving membership acquisition and retention through relationship building and engagement strategies. You will build and manage a strong membership pipeline, identify and pursue new business opportunities, meet with business owners and senior decision-makers, and clearly communicate the value of BBOT membership and partnership opportunities. You will support renewals, the strengthening of existing member relationships, and help members connect to the events, advocacy, visibility, and business opportunities that matter most to them. Key tasks include managing member relationships, analyzing membership trends, creating outreach materials, and planning events to attract and retain members. The role involves actively collaborating with the BBOT team to achieve membership goals and support the business community.

Qualifications

You bring at least five years of experience in business development, membership growth, sponsorship sales, corporate relations, or consultative B2B sales. You are confident building relationships with owners and executives, comfortable representing an organization in the community, and energized by both prospecting and retention. You are organized, accountable, and excellent at follow-up.

Experience in a chamber, board of trade, association, hospitality/events, professional services, financial services, or similar relationship-led environment is a strong asset.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools, sales techniques, and marketing software is an asset
  • Proven ability to work in a hybrid environment, displaying independence and collaboration skills
  • A degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
