Hays Civil Construction in Ontario has partnered with our client to hire a Senior Estimator in Toronto.

The business brings over 30 years’ experience in the Heavy Civil and Concrete Construction Industry. They are trusted by clients to deliver their infrastructure needs, regardless of the size or complexity of the project, with the highest level of quality and safety standards. The team brings experience in delivering a wide range of concrete structures, including bridges, both new construction and rehabilitation, pumping stations, culverts, manholes and valve chambers. Due to continued growth and progression planning, they are excited to welcome aboard a Senior Estimator.

Your new Role

As the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for overseeing all estimating, procurement, and pre-construction planning activities. You will work alongside the Chief Estimator and the rest of the business to coordinate procurement, interface with consultants, and set bidding strategies. This role requires deep knowledge of concrete, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience using Bid2Win, and online bidding platforms such as Bids and Tenders are highly valued. The company focuses its portfolio on private development but is open to candidates bringing experience from the municipal sector.

What you’ll need to Succeed

To succeed as the Senior Estimator, you will bring 8+ years’ experience in civil estimating; concrete structures; bridges both new construction and rehabilitation, pumping stations, culverts, manholes and valve chambers. Strong working knowledge of Bid2Win is highly valued. Proven experience in reviewing tender and contract documents, identifying scope gaps, and aligning bid strategies. Ability to lead tender pursuits from start to finish, including site visits, pre-bid meetings, subcontractor coordination, and bid submission. Familiarity with online bidding platforms. Ability to read and interpret complex civil engineering drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and construction standards. Experience in procurement and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. If you have relationships with private developers in the industry, this is considered an asset.
