Location: Downtown Calgary, AB (Fully Onsite)

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday (Regular business hours, flexible start)

Salary Range: $50,000 – $75,000 (Based on experience)

Led by a highly respected leader in Canadian immigration law, this employer-side firm brings over 50 years of combined team experience to a robust corporate client base. The firm operates with a small, close-knit team that prioritizes practical, high-quality solutions and maintains a collaborative, supportive work environment.

Position Overview

Due to increasing demand from an active corporate client base, the firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal. In this role, you will provide essential support to the legal team by independently preparing and filing business immigration applications, managing files, and tracking strict deadlines. The ideal candidate has strong drafting skills, an analytical mind, and experience managing multiple files simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Preparation: Assist in drafting and compiling comprehensive business immigration packages, including document lists, application forms, and supporting letters.
  • Case Management: Maintain an organized, up-to-date case management system, consistently monitoring application statuses through various stages.
  • Filing & Compliance: Coordinate the timely submission of documents to government agencies and meticulously track critical deadlines.
  • Client Communications: Act as a reliable point of contact for clients, conducting interviews to gather accurate information and providing regular status updates.
  • Legal Research: Stay updated on changing immigration laws, regulations, and policies to support ongoing file preparation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience working as an immigration paralegal within a law firm setting, with a solid grasp of Canadian business immigration procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal drafting, strong writing skills, and excellent research/analytical abilities.
  • Organization: Sharp clerical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to project-manage multiple cases concurrently.
  • Systems: Familiarity with iManage or a similar document management system is preferred.
  • Education: A Paralegal diploma, certificate, or relevant post-secondary legal education is considered a strong asset.
