Description

DLS Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer for a contract role to design, implement, and secure modern CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) architectures, specifically utilizing directory-based structures to maintain clean, reusable code, and has hands-on experience provisioning, securing, and optimizing Red Hat OpenShift environments and IBM Cloud Pak enterprise platforms within the Azure ecosystem. The successful candidate must be willing to operate as an Independent Contractor.

The ideal candidate for this position must have Secret Clearance, and may be required to provide references, as well.

If you are a deadline-driven Independent Contractor who meets the technical and professional requirements for this role, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Orchestration: Architect, maintain, and scale our reusable library of Terraform modules. Optimize configuration management using Terragrunt to ensure parent settings (remote backends, cloud providers) are seamlessly inherited to eliminate boilerplate duplication across Dev, Staging, and Production environments.
  • Cluster Management: Manage the lifecycle and scaling of Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) enterprise clusters. Ensure clusters meet strict enterprise constraints, including configuring network control planes, managing dedicated node subnets, and enforcing Private Link network policies.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Architecture: Design, build, and optimize end-to-end automation pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (.gitlab-ci.yml). Configure self-managed GitLab Runners utilizing Docker executors to test code, build application artifacts, package container images, and execute automated deployment workflows directly into Cloud Pak namespaces.

Specific IBM Cloud Pak requirement:

  • Lead the day-to-day deployment, lifecycle configuration, patch management, and optimization of IBM Cloud Pak platform layers (e.g., Cloud Pak for Data, Cloud Pak for Integration) running on top of Red Hat OpenShift. Ensure the underlying platform services, operators, and catalog sources remain healthy and optimized.
  • Hands-on experience administering and deploying workloads into IBM Cloud Paks. Proficient with IBM Cloud Pak foundational services, managing operators via the Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM), managing custom resource definitions (CRDs), and utilizing Cloud Pak APIs/CLIs for service integration.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or Cloud Security Engineering.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment workflows.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM, OpenShift, IBM CloudPak.
  • Experience embedding security controls into DevOps pipelines and cloud environments.

Technical skills:

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD platforms, pipeline orchestration, and secure automation.
  • Proficiency with Azure cloud services, including Azure Resource Manager, Azure Monitoring, and Azure Key Vault.
  • Knowledge of containerization platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes) and automated configuration tools.
  • Experience in security scanning, SAST/DAST, compliance automation, and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, security frameworks, and cloud governance best practices.

Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
