Canadian Blood Services is looking for a<br/><br/>Regular Full Time Business Continuity Specialist<br/><br/>to join our dynamic<br/><br/>Enterprise Risk Management<br/><br/>team.<br/><br/>The<br/><br/>Enterprise Risk Management<br/><br/>team is responsible for supporting leaders in making strategic, operational, and project management decisions through the application of risk management practices and evidence‑ and risk‑based tools. The team supports the identification, assessment, and management of risks, promotes balanced and informed decision‑making, facilitates the monitoring, communication, and escalation of risks, and integrates informed decision‑making and risk management into organizational structures and processes.<br/><br/>Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Continuity, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving Canadian Blood Services’ Business Continuity Program. Acting as a strategic partner to the business, you will help mature organizational resilience and preparedness and strengthen the ability to respond to and recover from disruptions. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks and impacts, develop practical continuity strategies, and implement solutions that ensure the continuity of critical operations.<br/><br/>Formula For Success<br/><br/>Drawing on your Business Continuity expertise, you will lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Program across the organization.<br/><br/>Leveraging your leadership skills, you will identify threats and vulnerabilities and develop resiliency strategies that support continuity of critical operations.<br/><br/>Applying your training and facilitation skills, you will design and deliver awareness and training initiatives that build organizational preparedness, including developing materials and facilitating sessions.<br/><br/>Using your incident management expertise, you will maintain the Incident Management Plan and support coordination of response activities during disruptions.<br/><br/>Capitalizing on your planning and organizational skills, you will lead the design and execution of business continuity exercises and testing activities to assess and strengthen organizational readiness.<br/><br/>Harnessing your analytical and technical skills, you will support the implementation and optimization of business continuity tools and systems.<br/><br/>Desired Education and Skills<br/><br/>Completion of secondary education, preferably a university degree in a related field.<br/><br/>5-6 years of relevant experience is preferred.<br/><br/>Knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing or healthcare industry concepts and issues is preferred.<br/><br/>Knowledge of project management principles is an asset.<br/><br/>General management and leadership experience.<br/><br/>Certifications or training in Business Continuity/Incident Management, such as Incident Command System (ICS), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) or Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) would be an asset.<br/><br/>Experience implementing or maintaining business continuity software is an asset.<br/><br/>What We Offer You<br/><br/>4 weeks vacation.<br/><br/>Annual performance award up to 8%.<br/><br/>Comprehensive group health, dental and vision benefits for you and your family.<br/><br/>Defined benefit pension plan.<br/><br/>Employee discounts, wellness program, professional resources.<br/><br/>What You Can Expect<br/><br/>This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at one of Canadian Blood Services Production sites (Ottawa, Brampton, Calgary, Edmonton, St. Johns, Dartmouth, Winnipeg) at least 40% of the time / 2 days of the week.<br/><br/>Occasional travel may be required.<br/><br/>#J-18808-Ljbffr
