The Role:


The Service Electrician is responsible for estimating, planning, supervising, executing and documenting electrical service and small project installations from mobilization to completion. They ensure all on-site activities are safely executed within the project schedule, budget, and scope while exceeding customer expectations. They will lead the team, teaching, coaching, and mentoring their crew according to Leading Edge Electric’s values, policies, and procedures.


Key Qualifications:


  • FSR B – Preferred
  • Certified Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeyman Electrician – Mandatory
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial electrical service and tenant improvements
  • Installation experience (e.g. distribution, lighting control, fire alarm, etc.)
  • Leverages expertise to always deliver quality work and pursues opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ethical with a focus on providing the best experience for all stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic (punctual, reliable, self-motivated, and ability to work independently)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Key Duties:


  • Conducts high quality work aligned with company expectations
  • Installs, tests, and commissions electrical equipment and systems
  • Ensures tasks are completed on budget, on schedule, and on scope
  • Participates in site-related meetings including site walkthroughs, checklists, and safety meetings
  • Assists project staff with estimating and managing change orders as per company process
  • Addresses and/or escalates issues accordingly (e.g. site problems, failed inspections, safety incidents, etc.)
  • Manages site equipment and materials, ensuring that they are ordered, received, stored, and used correctly
  • Maintains and enforces safety compliance
  • Ensures that job sites are clean and organized
  • Maintains accurate as-built drawings, layouts, and other project documentation
  • Maintains good relationships with clients, engineers, contractors, and other trade leads
