Role Description The Fabrications Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Nepean, ON. This position is responsible for reviewing drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to prepare accurate estimates for custom plastic fabrication projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, calculating material usage and labor time, and preparing detailed quotations and cost breakdowns. The role involves collaborating closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to clarify project scope, optimize designs for manufacturability, and ensure estimates align with shop capabilities. The Fabrications Estimator also updates and maintains pricing data, tracks project revisions, supports order entry, and may assist with scheduling or project follow-up to help ensure jobs are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications
- Strong estimating and analytical skills, including experience interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for fabricated or manufactured products.
- Knowledge of plastics, fabrication processes (e.g., cutting, forming, welding, machining), and basic manufacturing workflows; experience in a fabrication or industrial environment is an asset.
- Proficiency with computers and office software (e.g., Excel, Word, email) and comfort learning estimating or ERP systems; familiarity with CAD or technical drawing software is a plus.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with customers, sales, and production teams, including the ability to ask clarifying questions and explain estimates clearly.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Previous experience in estimating, project coordination, or a related role in manufacturing, construction, or fabrication is preferred.
- Secondary school completion required; post-secondary education in engineering technology, manufacturing, drafting, or a related field is considered an asset.
