Description

Your New Company

We are working with a highly respected, full-service law firm in Toronto that is seeking an experienced Litigation Law Clerk to join its collegial and high-performing litigation group.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a law clerk who is looking for long-term stability, meaningful work, and a genuinely supportive team environment, not just another role.

Your New Role

This role offers the opportunity to join a truly collegial, team-first culture where lawyers are approachable, supportive, and value collaboration and mutual respect. It is a workplace known for its low turnover and high employee satisfaction, reflecting strong leadership and a positive day-to-day experience. You will gain exposure to complex and sophisticated litigation matters across a wide variety of cases, allowing you to develop both breadth and depth in your experience. Rather than being tied to a single lawyer, you will contribute across the litigation group, providing variety in your work and avoiding a siloed experience. The combination of a realistic billable target and hybrid work model also supports a balanced and sustainable long-term career.

In this role, you will support lawyers across a broad range of litigation matters from file opening through to resolution or trial, working on diverse and engaging files. You will be responsible for drafting and preparing pleadings, motion records, affidavits, and other court documents, as well as managing filings through Ontario e-filing platforms such as Civil Submissions Online and Caselines. The position involves coordinating discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trial preparation, while maintaining organized file systems and tracking critical deadlines to ensure compliance with procedural requirements. You will also communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and external service providers, and assist with legal and factual research as needed.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of Ontario civil litigation experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Experience with e-filing systems and legal technology
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment

What You’ll Receive in Return

  • Base salary ranging from $80,000-95,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • 4 weeks of vacation
  • Two remote working days per week
  • A stable, supportive workplace with strong retention
  • Meaningful involvement in complex, high-quality litigation work
  • A team that values professionalism, respect, and work-life balance
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career, not just fill a role
