Allan | Law & Policy is a Toronto-based boutique law, regulatory and policy firm advising cutting-edge clients in the transportation, energy and climate sectors, with particular expertise in electric vehicles (EVs), EV charging and climate regulations and energy project finance. We’re hiring an associate lawyer to join our team — this is an active vacancy for a new full-time role.

The role is open to any year of call, though we expect candidates with 3+ years of experience will be best positioned for the work. This is a hybrid role with an expected 2–3 days per week in our downtown Toronto office at 30 Adelaide.

The work: You’ll work closely with our founder on team-based files, with a mix of contract drafting, deal management and regulatory advisory work. Files are interesting, varied and substantive — the kind of work you’d expect at a larger firm, but with direct exposure to our founder and clients.

What we’re looking for:

  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong contract drafting skills
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Background in commercial or corporate finance law
  • Genuine interest in regulatory work
  • Flexibility, curiosity, and a drive to keep growing
  • Someone who wants to be excellent at their craft and contributes to a collaborative, supportive team

Bonus points for:

  • Energy, climate, or transportation electrification regulatory experience
  • Leasing experience
