About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and highly respected real estate developer in the GTA with a strong track record of delivering quality low-rise residential communities. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Vice President, Construction to provide strategic leadership across all construction operations and drive excellence in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the Construction team, including Construction Managers, Site Superintendents, and support staff.
  • Develop and execute construction strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

Construction Operations

  • Oversee the successful execution of multiple low-rise residential projects from pre-construction through occupancy.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, productivity, and construction performance metrics.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and health and safety requirements.

Financial Management

  • Lead construction budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Monitor project costs and overall construction performance against approved budgets.
  • Analyze variances and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across construction operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of construction leadership experience within the residential development industry.
  • Extensive experience delivering low-rise residential communities in Ontario.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and construction teams simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and developing future leaders.
  • Experience implementing operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Ontario Building Code, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field is preferred.
