Our client is seeking an experiencedSenior Mechanical Engineer Manager(P.Eng.)to lead their Mechanical Engineering team and oversee the delivery of mechanical building systems projects from feasibility through construction.Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will manage a team of engineers and designers while serving as the technical lead for a diverse portfolio of institutional, commercial, municipal, and infrastructure projects.This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Associate, or Mechanical Team Lead who is looking for greater influence, direct access to leadership, and a clear path toward long-term leadership and potential ownership.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of Professional Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and CAD Designers.Manage mechanical engineering projects from feasibility studies through detailed design, tendering, construction review, and contract administration.Design and review:HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, heat pumps, RTUs, MAUs, fans)Plumbing and drainage systemsFire protection systemsSpecialty mechanical systems including refrigeration and fuel storage/supplyPrepare engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.Coordinate with structural, civil, architectural, and electrical disciplines.Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.Participate in business development, proposal preparation, and identifying new project opportunities.Support the continued growth and development of the mechanical engineering department.Typical Projects
Projects include a diverse mix of public and private sector developments, including:Municipal facilitiesSchools and School BoardsUniversities and CollegesGovernment facilitiesTransit and transportation infrastructureCommercial buildingsInstitutional facilitiesQualificationsBachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.Approximately 15+ years of consulting engineering experience.Strong background in building mechanical systems design.Experience with:HVAC systemsPlumbingFire protectionRefrigeration and specialty mechanical systemsPrevious experience leading engineers or mentoring technical teams.Contract administration and construction review experience.Strong communication and client relationship management skills.Business development experience is considered a strong asset.What Makes This Opportunity Different?
