Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the deployment of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) for AWS data center construction.
  • Ensure data center controls are deployed in accordance with scope of work and specifications.
  • Review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings and provide feedback.
  • Develop controls bill of material (BOM) and scope of work for site improvement projects.
  • Financially manage construction and service contracts, including vendor management and contract administration.
  • Act as project sponsor or lead, overseeing supplier and contractor relationships.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to internal customers throughout the data center life cycle.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis of technical controls issues and develop corrective actions.
  • Schedule and supervise quarterly maintenance of BMS and EPMS.
  • Review controls sequence of operation and provide design feedback.
  • Participate in global on‑call rotation.
  • Develop and modify control logic programming and graphical user interface.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent engineering science plus 5+ years of controls experience, OR 10+ years of controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water, etc.).
  • 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience (RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFIs, submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls/Automation).
  • Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA system application‑specific controllers, software, and networks.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS).
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and navigate challenging situations.
  • Experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Prior AWS/Amazon experience.
  • 4+ years of military service.
