Intermediate Compensation Consultant

Location

Kingston, Ontario – On‑Site (3 days/week)

Security Clearance

Must hold a valid Government of Canada Secret clearance (active at time of submission)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide payrolling and administrative financial support to a specialised military training centre.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of financial transactions and claims in accordance with the Financial Administration Act (FAA), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) regulations, and departmental financial policies.
  • Initiate, process, verify, and finalize electronic and manual claims, ensuring completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation.
  • Process travel, relocation, and employee claims using approved systems (including electronic claims platforms and Claims X) in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Administer cost comparisons and provide financial findings to support operational decision‑making.
  • Respond to routine enquiries from managers, staff, and suppliers regarding financial procedures, transaction status, and documentation requirements.
  • Process travel arrangements, including flight bookings, using approved systems such as AMEX GBT/NEO when required.
  • Ensure proper information‑management practices, safeguarding, filing, and retention of financial and administrative records in compliance with privacy and security standards.
  • Attend mandatory training and professional development activities related to financial administration and systems.
  • Provide additional payrolling and administrative support services as required to support ongoing operations.

What you must bring to this role

  • Minimum of twenty‑four (24) months of experience within the last five (5) years providing client service support.
  • Experience working with government financial policies, procedures, and systems is considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written) without assistance.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Must hold a valid Secret‑level Government of Canada security clearance (mandatory).
  • Must be able to work on‑site in Kingston, Ontario (3 days per week).

Deliverables

  • Accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, claims, commitments, and reports in compliance with applicable policies, timelines, and standards.

Work Location

Services must be performed on‑site during core business hours at the Canadian Armed Forces facility (Kingston).
